Description
This sword and its design stamps the beginning of the age of the heavily armoured medieval knight. When the Normans invaded England in 1066, a great many of these swords came ashore brandished by fearsome heavily armoured and often horse mounted warriors. It features a cashew nut shaped pommel and and a classic straight hilt design. It also has a long tapering blade which gave the wielder better reach and better suited the tactics and fighting style of the Norman warrior.
